MKS Toolkit for Developers
Develop powerful cross platform UNIX, Linux and Windows Scripts
Overview
MKS Toolkit for Developers is a Windows development product for software, script, and Web developers, who can choose from command-line or graphical Visual Studio® build environments. It is ideal for developing common, cross-platform scripts for UNIX, Linux, and Windows, from a single Windows desktop. Using the power of more than 300 command-line utilities, and CGI scripts.
How Toolkit for Developers can help
Complete Command Line Build Environment
MKS Toolkit for Developers provides you with a complete suite of command-line build utilities
(ar, cc, ld, make, gmake, grep, vi)
for migrating and unifying your software builds across UNIX/Linux and Windows.
Scripting and Automation Environment
MKS Toolkit for Developers gives you the ability to create scripts, which can be easily modified
and updated, to automate repetitive tasks and processes. When combined with the MKS Toolkit
scheduling utilities (at, batch, crontab, taskrun, and wts), it becomes simple to create complex
tasks that are repeated at scheduled intervals, such as the standardization of system
configuration and application deployment.
Cross-Platform Compatibility
MKS Toolkit for Developers contains more than 300 command-line utilities, most of which are
governed by the POSIX body of standards. This level of compliance allows you to write and deploy
scripting solutions throughout your organization, integrate cross-platform build environments,
and distribute automated testing processes.
"If you're forced to use Windows and you miss all the creature comforts of UNIX, MKS Toolkit is indispensable. If you're a Windows user and have wondered about all those nuts that love UNIX so much, MKS Toolkit is a gentle peek through the door."
James Gosling, Sun Microsystems, Inc.
