New release expands feature set and capabilities

New Features and Updates include the release of the OpenScript platform for scripting of tests.

OpenScript for Functional Testing

The Oracle Application Testing Suite 9.0 release includes OpenScript for functional testing. OpenScript -- a new scripting platform for creating automated test scripts first released in Oracle Application Testing Suite 8.50 -- combines an intuitive, easy-to-use graphical scripting interface with a powerful Eclipse-based Java IDE that provides greater scripting flexibility. In the ATS 9.0 release, OpenScript now supports both functional and load testing of Web/HTTP, Siebel, Oracle EBS/Forms and Web services applications. The OpenScript product is a component of Oracle Functional Testing and does not require a separate license. The existing Oracle Functional Testing scripting platform is also included in the ATS 9.0 release and will continue to be supported for both functional testing and load test scripting.

Oracle E-Business Suite Testing Accelerators

The Oracle Application Testing Suite 9.0 release includes Functional Testing and Load Testing Accelerators for Oracle E-Business Suite which enables automated functional testing and load testing of Oracle E-Business Suite applications. The accelerator enables support for testing both Web and Oracle Forms application interfaces.

Oracle Weblogic Server Support

Oracle Application Testing Suite is now certified with Oracle Weblogic Server as the application server for Oracle Load Testing and Oracle Test Manager. Users of Oracle Load Testing and Oracle Test Manager will receive a free restricted use license of Oracle Weblogic Server for use with these products. Oracle Weblogic Server is automatically installed and configured with ATS and replaces JBoss Server used in prior versions.

Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Support

Oracle Application Testing Suite is now certified with Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition as the database repository for Oracle Load Testing and Oracle Test Manager. Users of Oracle Load Testing and Oracle Test Manager will receive a free restricted use license of Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition for use with these products. Oracle Application Testing Suite also supports Oracle Database 10g. An Oracle 10g Express Edition (XE) database can be automatically installed and configured with ATS for demo purposes and replacese Microsoft Access used in prior versions.
